Summer 2014 photos

Dessert
This photo is a close up of a desert that my family and I got at an italian restaurant in Madrid.  The photo is slightly unbalanced, and it is very simple.
Sunset in Ronda
This is a photo of a sunset in Ronda, Spain.  I used the rule of thirds, by placing the sun on the 2/3 vertical line, and on the 2/3 horizontal line.  There is also a relatively strong center of interest
Dusk in Ronda
This is a photo of dusk in Ronda, Spain. I again used the rule of thirds. This time for not only the sun on the 1/3 horizontal and vertical lines,  but also the horizon is on the horizontal 1/3 line.
Barcelona 1992
This is the photo of the outside 1992 Olympic stadium in Barcelona.  I used leading lines in this shot to lead the viewers eyes from the water right to the stadium. This photo is also balanced.
Granada at night
This is a photo of Granada, Spain at night.  I took this cityscape using about a 5 to 8 second shutter speed. It is a birds eye view, as I was able to see the whole city.
Door Details
This is a photo I took in Sevilla, Spain.  This is a close up of the detail on the wooden door to a house. This is a worms eye view, with vertical lines.
Dessert Options
This was a photo I took in a restaurant in Toledo, Spain. I was able to capture the delicately made desserts in a balanced photo. This photo has horizontal lines by the way that the desserts were set up.
Beautiful Design
This was a design in a church in Cordoba, Spain. This is a balanced photo. I used a fast shutter speed to make it have the perfect amount of light
Gaudi
This is a photo I took in Barcelona. the house which I took the photo is by a famous architect from Barcelona named Gaudi.  It is unbalanced and I avoided mergers. I also used the fastest shutter speed to make it appear to be very dark.
Shoes
This is a photo I took in Barcelona. I used vertical lines, and I also made the photo balanced.

 Shooting Stars in Ronda
The two previous photos were taken in Ronda, Spain. They both have shooting stars.  I used about a 15 second exposure for each of these photos, and the rule of thirds was used for both of them.
Night in Sevilla
This was a photo I took in Sevilla spain on top of a mushroom like structure.  I used a long exposure because it was dark and I wanted it to be brighter. The photo uses curved lines.
Flower
This was a photo I took in Granada, Spain. It has a shallow depth of field as the subject is in focus but the background is not.  This photo is balanced, and very simple.
Dusk in San Francisco
This is a photo I took in San Francisco. I used the rule of thirds by having the horizon on the 1/3 vertical line, and the tree on the 1/3 horizontal line.  I also used a fast shutter speed.

 Other Photos I liked

This past year in photography I learned many things. I learned about the composition guidelines, which I had previously known nothing about, which I was able to incorporate into all of my photos.  I also learned how to change the shutter speed and aperture, by doing this I was able to capture the photos that I took with the amount of light, and focusness that I wanted.  My photos wouldn't have looked as good as they are now without the knowledge from last years Photo1 class.
